I now own two of these and have used one pretty extensively. I love the bag. Unlike some of the reviews, I have not had any problems with the zippers, nor have I had any problems with it being too big for the airlines. Having said that, because it has so much space, if you fill it full of stuff you are likely to be over the 50 pound limit that's afforded for most domestic USA flights. Sometimes when I get to my destination, I will actually stuff a smaller bag in this one that would put it over 50 pounds but by that time I'm already at my destination and the bag wheels so easily that it makes it easier to carry more stuff at one time. I also sometimes throw my backpack on the top and threaded around the handle and roll it on there as well. The sides of the bag or a little bit flimsy, but if they were more firm my guess is the bag itself with way more. As it is, the empty bag is very light given its size and bulk.

We are big Travelpro fans so when it came time to order a larger bag for trips when we check this one was a no brainer. I like the higher quality look and feel of this platinum line but pretty much anything Travelpro is bulletproof. The bag is surprisingly light for it’s size. It rolls really well even when we have it maxed out at 59 lbs. The included trifold suit/dress zip on attachment turns it into a solid garment bag with a ton of space for everything else.

I travel almost every week. I purchased this bag a year ago to replace an ancient suitcase I still had from my youth. The new bag has served me well with only a couple of exceptions. There is a skid plate on the back that protects the bag when it is pulled over a curb. The stitching came out of the upper half of the plastic plate. I restitched it by hand which was not easy! Now the main compartment zipper is separating from it's backing on one of the corners. It is very difficult to unzip if the bag is laying on it's back. I'm not sure if I can repair this one.
Overall it is a good sturdy bag. Airlines hate these big bags which is evident by the way they throw them on to the conveyors. I think I will downsize a bit for the next one.

After many years of travel we decided to spend more money to purchase a top of the line bag so we ended up with this TravelPro bag. After one trip the entire outside zipper was ripped off! We didn't immediately notice this after our trip so the airlines will certainly not cover this. We have traveled on many many trips with different types of luggae and this has never happened before. Very disappointed with the quality of this bag.

As a fit middle-age flyer, I walk for 30 minutes on sidewalks to the metropolitan airport near my house. These wheels roll nicely on smooth concrete, asphalt, brick flooring, and even rougher surfaces. The suit compartment that flaps out and snaps-in is innovative and an excellent feature. Just be careful not to pack too many heavy items so you don’t go over the allowable 50 lbs because its easier to do with a suitcase this big.

My original Travelpro two-wheel set has lasted me more than 25 years. When it was time to upgrade to 4 wheels, I checked out the Platinum Magna line at a department store and was impressed by it. I waited for the Magna 2 line to come out and ordered two pieces sight unseen. Big mistake. The new Platinum Magna 2 line is a disappointment. They have great wheels but the piece I got was poorly finished. The fabric had wrinkles around the main zipper and air bubbles around the extensible handle. The original Platinum Magna line had hard side walls. The Magna 2 line has a flimsy center strap that makes the side walls only partially solid. The original Platinum Magna line included a padlock. With Magna 2, you have to fill out a form and wait 8 weeks for the lock.

I have no qualms with the luggage itself. Travel Pro makes outstanding luggage and I own every size made...except this one now. I bought it ASSUMING it would be within airline size restrictions. That was a dumb move on my part. This luggage is very large and well exceeds airlines 62 linear inches max. It's 66+" (incl. wheels, which airlines count in measurement). While some have asked if airlines have a problem with it and I have not seen anyone that has had a problem, it's not worth either getting your luggage rejected or pay a heavy fee to use in a time when traveling is hectic enough. I returned it not willing to take that risk. DO NOT buy it. It is too large!!

Feels really high quality -- a pleasure and a luxury to use. It will roll well on just about anything, even carpet. It feels good to have something you know you won't have to replace for like 10 years. I should perhaps have gotten the smaller one. Given its weight, it's easy to break the weight limit. Thinking of buying another one when I want to splurge again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great suitcase...but it's huge, I mean really big.

This suitcase is very well built, exactly what we've come to expect from TravelPro. However, it's so large that we've had to return it and order the 25" spinner.
If you need a giant suitcase, this is the one for you.
