    Overall pretty good initial reaction
    4 out of 5 stars
    Overall pretty good initial reaction
Initial impression is wow. This TV is nice a big when compared to the 55" it replaced. The picture quality is good. Not OLED good, like some have tried to say. But in the rare moments of testing 4K UHD content it is more than good enough for me. Up-scaling of SDR content is good. The apps I've tried YouTube, Netflix, Fox Sports work as expected. The sound from the TV can be amazingly good for a large screen TV. I wasn't expecting much, but OTA channels with good quality sound fill the open great room with sound. Sound from attached Tivo is pretty weak and has to be turned up (level 50 to get close to the level the same channel from TV set at 26). I do like watching TV from my office (25') or living room (12') or kitchen (24'). The Roku app does help with the listening option if I need to watch something while the house is still asleep. Still there are many downsides that some may or may not be concerned with. The Roku remote works okay, but voice control rarely works on first try. Switching stations or inputs seems very slow. Volume buttons on side are way to easy to press by accident. Have yet to figure out how to make sure getting full UHD content out of Xbox One X. Need more time to figure out if something needs to be set different. Motion on this TV is not great. Background objects of a panning image become blurry, for lack of a better word. Haven't had this long enough to play with any settings that might help. Still wondering if I can handle this TV for football. This TV has noticeable reflections on the screen. Both day, from windows to the sides, and night from any lights on behind those viewing. Some ads have popped up on my screen covering the bottom fifth form time to time. And this TV doesn't like not being connected to the internet. Had a very hard time turning on the TV when it wasn't connected to wifi. It took unplugging the TV to allow me to power it on. Another thing I need to keep an eye on. Delivery was okay. Wasn't sure what they would do with the TV. Basically it was delivered into my house and set down. No unboxing to check screen for damage which fortunately I have not noticed in casual viewing so far. Make sure you pay attention to the handling instructions (pictures). You can't lift it by the top half without risking possible screen damage. Obviously you will need two reasonably strong people to set up this set. I was a bit concerned with the back of the TV having a slightly thicker bottom then the thickness of the rest of the TV for attaching wall mount brackets. It limited the placement of the brackets, meaning they had to be mounted higher up the back of the TV then I wanted to avoid the approximate 2/10" lip. The location meant the TV was a couple inches lower, but still at good height above center channel speaker. Going into this purchase I was looking for as big a screen as I could fit on my existing wall mount. Knowing I couldn't justify the cost of the 77" OLED sets, I narrowed choices down to 3, 75" sets. Decided on the lowest cost due to the slightly better viewing of SDR content versus cost. Time will tell if the reliability of this set and setting changes to help with sports motion blur make this a good purchase for me.

    • Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2019
I wanted to spend a little time with the TV before writing a review. Now that I have had an opportunity to really give it some attention I can say that I am very pleased.

First off, the reason you are reading this review is to know one thing. Is this a good 4K TV at this price point? The answer is an unquestionable YES. This TV is a good TV at any price point to be honest and the fact that it is so affordable only sweetens the deal.

I should stress however that I have not owned a 4K tv before or had much time viewing any besides models set up in stores. I admit that I am a 4K newbie so with that in mind you could argue that seeing any 4K image at all would be impressive to me. To an extent that may be true but I did my homework and research on this one before purchasing and I can definitely say that the professional and customer reviews were all accurate. This truly is the best 4K picture you can get for under $1000 right now.

So what makes it so great? Let's address the picture quality first. Out of the box the first thing you will notice is how vibrant the colors are. The tv applies these amazing colors to anything you happen to be watching. HD, 4K, video games - heck even SD sources look amazing if for no other reason than the colors. Where the TV really shines though is when viewing a 4K source with HDR or Dobly Vision (this tv supports both) applied. Breathtaking doesn't even begin to describe it. One of the first things I did was pull up some HDR demo videos on Youtube and was immediately blown away.

Videos running in 4K look good to begin with, but when you watch one with HDR it truly is spectacular. This tv can get very bright and also handles blacks very impressively. So when HDR is applied you get deep, rich shadows and darks and very intense brights. Not to mention the color intensity is simply stunning.

The fact that this tv supports Dolby Vision is another huge plus. Between Dolby Vision and HDR I find Dolby Vision to be the superior format. It isn't so much about trying to stun you as it is just subtle image enhancements in regards to color and lights/darks. Dolby Vision was a must have for me when shopping for a new tv because I planned to watch movies more than anything on it and I love what Dolby Vision does for films.

There are plenty of settings so it may take you some time to tweak them to your liking. Once you do however, be prepared to be very satisfied with everything you watch. The Roku software is flawless and I have nothing bad to say about this tv's operating system.

I have also seen some reviews that say that if you look at this tv from the side too far then some picture loss is noticeable. Personally I have not seen this happen but then again I do not have a large room and have not had to view anything from one extreme side or the other.

I have also read that some sets have bad dirty screen effect. I must have been lucky in my panel since I have not noticed any issues with this either. I ran a dirty screen effect test video from Youtube and only barely noticed some small black areas here and there. To be honest, this is a problem that is simply part of owning an LCD tv, it may be impossible to eliminate it entirely simply because it is the nature of an LCD set.

If I have to complain about anything it would be about the remote. It is just a little small for my tastes, but then again, Roku remotes have always on the small side.

Other than that I honestly have no real negatives or gripes about this tv at all. Some have said that the sound from the tv speakers are not very good but I use a surround sound system using the very convenient ARC from the tv so I have not tested the tv speakers at all.

Bottom line, this is an amazing tv at this price point and I highly recommend it.

    • Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2018
Ordered the 65" TV on April 29th and finally got it delivered on June 6th. I tested the TV and was happy to say that my TV is almost flawless. There were 2 cloud spots around the 2/3 of the width (from the left) mark but they were really minor and it's hard to tell unless I really was trying hard to spot them.

I tested the screen in two ways:
      - displayed various solid and gradient colors on the screen
      - I hooked up Chromecast Ultra and let it show various wallpapers/slides. Chromecast wallpapers are usually really high-quality and have really vivid colors so that's a good way to test the TV screen

No vertical banding whatsoever. Again, there are two barely-noticeable cloud spots but I don't even notice them these days and just forgot about them.

I'm definitely very happy with the TV itself, but am unhappy with the Courier.

The Courier used by Amazon was Non-stop Delivery (NSD) and if you look them up online, they have almost only bad reviews. 1-star on Yelp too.
They never called me, not even once. They were supposed to call me twice: one to schedule date/time for the delivery, and another call, on the day of delivery, 30 mins before they arrive. They never called at all. I had to track the status of my TV delivery online on their website to find out when my delivery date/time was. Luckily I was home on the day of delivery. And the delivery time was between 12 and 3pm, but they arrived at 10.30am without even giving me a heads-up about the 1.5hour early arrival?

And the way the two guys handled the TV made my heart drop. As per the Assembly Instructions, you're supposed to lie the TV down (screen-down) on a flat, cushioned surface before attaching the two bases. But the delivery guys simply put the TV down on the floor, standing on its shorter side! It's a 65" TV! Putting the TV that way could potentially damage the TV as you're putting the weight of the whole TV on the shorter side.

Luckily the TV didn't seem to suffer from any damage etc caused by the delivery guys' bad handling.

The design is awesome, the brush frame gives an elegant look to the TV overall. The remote control is great - you don't have to point it to the TV to control the TV and voice control is another great addition.

Been using this for gaming as well and I don't notice any input lag at all. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase, but definitely if you're promised a white-glove delivery by Amazon, ask for a reliable and competent courier and not NSD.
