About this item

  • ESSENTIAL AIR PURIFIER - Engineered to generate a positive pressure bubble to keep bad air out. Wynd’s personal purifier traps particles such as pollen, pet dander, dust, and pollution in a silver infused, medical grade air filter. This system automatically adjusts itself to clean air fast or slow based on your local official air quality stations.
  • APP INTEGRATED - Remotely monitor your air quality, control your Wynd devices, and observe air quality trends for optimal health and comfort. The Essential includes the Wynd app to control multiple modes and purifier settings as well as check the air quality from thousands of stations globally. (Note: Essential does not come with a built-in Wynd Tracker)
  • POWERFUL DESIGN - Speed and power in the palm of your hand. Designed by engineers from NASA and MIT, Wynd air purifiers are powerful enough to remove 99.99% of pollutants in a car cabin in under 15 minutes by purifying up to 8 liters of air per second.
  • LIGHTWEIGHT & PORTABLE - Breathe clean air no matter where life takes you. Wynd Essential is as small as a water bottle and can fit in a cup-holder, so you can use it anywhere: airplane, car, office, small rooms, inside baby strollers, and more. When it's not plugged in, Wynd Essential lasts for about 8 hours on normal use.
  • FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY - With a large purification rate to size ratio and a filter that lasts up to 3 months, Wynd is ready to clean your air literally anywhere. Through the app, we can calculate the filter life and track air pollution around the filter—as well as airflow level and usage duration. We can also tell you how used up the filter is and alert you when it’s time to order a replacement.

My personal fortress of solitude

My personal fortress of solitude
As an adult suffering from allergies and other related respiratory ailments , I thought it was time for me to really analyze the air I breathe and ensure that it is healthy for me. So when I came across the Wynd Essential Mini Air Purifier, I was immediately impressed by the concept of being able to control what I breathe in everywhere I go. The Wynd purifier is very simple to use, One button powers it on and you twist the top to adjust the level of air filtration you desire. On the lowest settings, you will barely believe the device is on but on its highest settings, it is a mini white noise machine (which helps me sleep like a baby so that falls in the plus column for me) It paired with my phone without any issues and allows me to ability to control the Wynd remotely including being able to turn off the bright light on top of the unit when you are trying to sleep (this can also be done on the unit itself by hitting the Auto button twice) The app also gives you a filter life monitor so you will know when it's time to replace it. Filters pop in really easy like popping in a fresh battery on a flashlight. The essentials does not come with the air tracker of the plus model, so I can't attest to its capability nor does the auto mode on the device seem effective without it. The effective range is limited, but as long as you can keep it within a few feet of you, the air that it puts out feels cool and refreshing. As a Lyft driver, I love keeping this device running in my cup holder to circulate clean air inside my car cabin (without having to open the windows) It comes with a stand to tilt and point the Wynd in your direction however, the stand can bit flimsy as it topples over very easily. The price point may scare some away but, you get a quality product that will get the job done well as long as you don't push the device past its intended scope. I would look elsewhere if you need a more stationary solution or need to clean large amounts of air in a big space. Overall, I'm very pleased with the Wynd purifier and gladly recommend it to others with its unparalleled portability and performance. Pros: Fresh air wherever you are Great battery life Functional companion smartphone app with useful features Filters are easy to change and are relatively inexpensive ($12.50) USB-C charging Essentials model is much cheaper than the Plus (excludes air tracker) Cons: Pricey considering you can buy bigger purifiers for cheaper Limited scope of effectiveness Flimsy stand A little noisy at maximum settings Auto mode/ AQI app features ineffective without the tracker in the Plus model

I love this air purifier! It’s the best thing that I’ve purchased in a long time. It only takes up the space of a travel mug; therefore it fits into the cup holder of my car. It’s small enough to fit in my purse next to my stainless steel water bottle. I take it everywhere! I try to look cool when I hold it, as if I’m sporting a chic travel mug (Especially since I don’t drink coffee.)

How I use my Wynd. Whenever I go anywhere in public, I pull it out of my purse and turn it on. Depending on the surrounding noise, I turn it up as loud as it can go without being annoying. I’d say it ranges from a soft purr to as loud as a hair dryer. But the soft purr—the lowest setting—is strong enough when aimed directly at my face, about a foot away, to give me the fresh air I need. I use the Wynd to direct fresh air at my face or to aim bad smells away from me.

I have multiple chemical sensitivities. While some scent particles are too small to be filtered by the Wynd (therefore they do go right through the filter), I can use the Wynd to blow them away from me. I have noticed that when I come across smells that make me sick (flulike symptoms and all), having fresh air blown into my face helps immensely. Sometimes I will discreetly aim my Wynd at the offending person to blow the scent away from me and back at them.

One of my lesser symptoms includes a horrifically itchy nose. This usually occurs from people wearing clothes soaked in fabric softener or by being around people who are pet owners. As soon as my nose starts up, I hold Wynd right under my nose, and in a little as a few seconds, my nose stops itching. (Wynd works great for pollen and dander.)

I’ve even taken Wynd to the theater. And thank heavens I did. The poor soul next to me was coughing the whole time (the horror!). I balanced my Wynd on my lap, using my coat and scarf to support it and aimed fresh air right at my face the whole movie. I didn’t end up sick.

I’ve had an occasion to run my Wynd after burning something in my oven. Smoke stunk up the house. The burnt smell was awful. I ran Wynd in my personal space while I worked, and it did a great job at filtering the smell.

Other than being an air purifier, it has other redeeming qualities. It’s a great portable fan for hot days. Perfect for menopausal women who get hot flashes. Sweaty pits? No problem. Aim Wynd Essential where the moisture is gathering, and you’ll be dry in no time. The ring of light at the top, which can be turned off, makes an impromptu flashlight or a light to hold under your chin when telling scary stories. And often I use my Wynd as a pretend microphone, to sing obnoxiously and embarrass my children.

Several of my friends have asked about my Wynd, wondering if it is an Alexa. That’s how cool it looks with its glowing ring at the top and sleek cordless design. So I named mine Lexa. My kids groan every time I ask them to bring me Lexa.

Cons. The stand to tilt my Wynd broke in about a month. It’s a cheap plastic bit. I don’t miss it. The on/off button sometimes gets hit by accident. (It’s in a place where I tend to hold my Wynd.)

Otherwise—The Wynd is easy to use! Love it!

I LOVE this little thing!! I'm using this device to improve safety / air filtration in what would otherwise be "iffy" situations - perfect for things like doctor/dentist visits, airline travel, restaurant dining, etc.

You can point it at your face to basically create a several-foot "bubble" of extremely clean air to breathe. You can feel very good air flow even on low/medium settings, which are very quiet.

    Things I like about it:
    - Great air flow. I tried a cheaper brand and the air flow wasn't anywhere near as good.
    - The little "kickstand" props it up at a perfect angle for setting it on a table/desk and bathing your face in clean air.
    - Perfectly acceptable noise - sounds like a small fan (because it is a small fan). Gets pretty loud on the highest settings, but the low/medium settings are perfectly adequate for getting good air flow from a couple feet away.
    - Lasts 8-10+ hours on the medium setting.

I even used a camera neck strap to rig up a sort of "necklace" so I can hang it around my neck for a constant flow of hands-free clean air.

My only tiny complaint is that I wish there were some type of light to show when it's charging / fully charged etc. but this is not enough to deduct a star.

The good: it cleaned the air in my car in about an hour. Make sure you have your A/C on circulate. My headache, throat, and chest pain are all but gone.

The bad: there are a slew of software and hardware issues. The device randomly shuts off. The app doesn't always display what's actually going on with the device and the device sometimes won't hold a charge. The plug in on the device came loose no more than 2 hours after unboxing. The tracker also isn't accurate at all.

With a slew of problems I ended up returning it. It works great but getting it to work is the problem. Bummer.

I really appreciate the mission behind this company. If you travel a lot and stay in hotels/motels/wherever, you will likely be very surprised by the lack of air quality you are surrounded by. I was recently on vacation in Florida and stayed in a studio apartment with wall A/C unit near the beach. I brought the entire unit but only used the sensor due to unit having no battery power. It was really empowering to be able to see when the air quality was diminishing in our room and knowing I could improve our air by seeing that the air quality outside was 5x better. Instead of suffering through a night of poor air quality, I opened some windows (even through it was hot outside) and within 30 minutes the air quality was dramatically better in our room. I left the ac running on low so it was kind of a balancing act of comfort and air quality.

My main gripe is that I dont beleive the air purifier itself is extremely helpful in actually improving thr air quality on a large enough scale. For a 300 sq ft room, I cant see it really making a bug big enough impact unless you run it for hours and the battery isnt really made to leave it on for part of a day.

Its also pretty noisy if you want to run it on high, which is what you'll need to impact the air quality around you in any meaningful way unless you having it blowing 3-4 ft from your face.

I can see it being useful to position aimed at your face on a nightstand, while plugged in, if you sleep with earplugs like I do at night.

Overall, the air purifier has merit but needs improvements and I'm not sure it warrants the price yet.

The sensor is amazing but needs its own charger, which isnt included with thre air purifier so you have to travel with the entire unit to charge the sensor.

Love thr sensor and would recommend buying it alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marvellous!! - 4 hours, a fully cleaned living space (900 sq. ft. approx.)
Reviewed in Canada on January 29, 2019
I cannot say enough good about this little air purifier! From the time I plugged it in (to fully charge it on initial use), the air started to shift. At the end of four hours, it had cleaned the entire 900 sq ft. space of my home. The air felt like fresh mountain air for the first time. With a dog and cat and wood stove, I never realized what a burden I was placing on my lungs until trying this purifier. For an asthmatic, it's a life changer. I bought it while very sick with pneumonia and now I have enough oxygen and energy to throw off this sickness. On a second round of antibiotics, I was starting to worry. I am beyond thrilled and will no longer fear travelling for all the microbes one can pick up.
