I seriously cannot gush enough for this thing. It makes cooking after a long day amongst ongoing studying and work a breeze. I've named it "Kitchen Minion" for the sole reason that it cooks while I'm doing anything else but cooking. With the app on my phone I can set up my meal and then start it wherever I am in the world so that it is ready when I get home. The Smart version of the Instant Pot is WELL worth the extra few bucks.
Pros:
Convenient, oh so convenient
Soups, stews, and fish take half the time and come out evenly cooked.
Chicken breasts are never dry
The pot alerts you if there's not enough fluid in it to cook to keep you from burning your food to the bottom.
All the parts of the lid come apart for easy cleaning. The lid, its components, and the inner pot are dishwasher safe.
The power cord comes off for easy storing within the pot.
The app allows you to select a recipe and then run the recipe cooking directions. It also has a variety of manual modes that explain which settings are best depending on the food type and texture preference.
The app shows where in the cooking process it is and how much time is left.
Cons:
It is a touch challenging to get hooked up to wifi, but the directions are clear enough to follow. I wish it were more like a Bluetooth connection set up than the multi step process it is. This is the ONLY gripe I have with the machine.
Reality checks:
This is a MOIST cooker. If you're looking for a crunchy finish, you're going to have to broil that stuff after it's done in the pot.
Silicone soaks up scents. This means the inner ring will need to be replaced eventually. It's easy to find replacement rings. I've read several places that it's suggested to have a "sweet" ring and a "savory" ring to avoid mixing seasonings. I've not had an issue with my foods absorbing any flavoring from the ring. I do make sure to completely take apart the lid and its ring and scrub it off with soap and water every time I cook. The ring itself still smells even after a sanitize with white vinegar, but it doesn't rub off on the food.
Any time you cook with the pressure setting, it takes about 5-10 minutes to get up to heat so factor in a little extra time on top of whatever the the pressure cooker cooking time is.
Not all recipes "cut cooking time in half". It's more of a "you don't have to babysit your cooking" idea.

Versatile tool to have in the kitchen
I ordered the smart wifi hot pot mainly due to the fact that I could monitor the instant pot from my phone, since I can't hear the timer going off due to my hearing loss. Since getting it, I've made several things with it: arroz con pollo, chicken pot pie soup, butternut squash soup, applesauce, and more. While it does take a little bit of a learning curve to understand how to use the pressure cooker function, once you understand how it works, it's a fantastic and versatile tool to have in the kitchen. It's very handy when you come home late from work, and just want to relax - you can just throw things in there, and dinner is ready in less than 30 minutes without effort! The only major effort I've had to do was prep vegs, and that's saying quite a bit. Cleanup is easy, too. One thing to note that would likely apply to all pressure cookers: It does take time for the pressure to rise. So, the timer on the instant pot starts AFTER the pot itself is pressurized. That can take up to 30 minutes, depending on several factors that I don't care to get into right now. But it truly is quick once it starts cooking.
