They say to not touch the test pad when removing from pouch... you’d think they’d package them with the pad away from the opening so it’d be easier to avoid the pad... other than that they work. Tested home water which read high, then tested with distilled water for contrast and was accurate

    Fast and easy! In just a couple seconds, you can know the hardness of your water. These are not a digital meter, so they won't give you an exact readout of your hardness, but they get you in the ballpark, which may be close enough for many of us.

    My only negative comment would be that the strips are not all oriented the same way in the package, so be careful when removing them. Wash your hands first or wipe off with an alcohol pad so as to not taint the results if you accidentally touch the active end of a strip. If the manufacturer/seller could orient all strips with the active ends down, it would be an improvement to an otherwise excellent product.

    After searching the web for a hard water test kit, I found this to be the best bang for my buck. It's important to know your water hardness to properly size a water softener for your home. This is a very easy to use test kit that gives you immediate and accurate results. If you are thinking about installing a water softener, do your research! You need to calculate for efficiency. Most water softener sales people will not give you accurate advice. Knowing your water hardness is a great place to begin and this test kit makes it super easy.

    I tested our water with this strips per the directions. I wish the system was different then various shades of color because ours turned a golden red color that didn’t really match any of the guides. We had to guess what our water hardness was from the results, which basically defeats the purpose of these stops in the first place.

    The test strips worked as described and were very easy to use. The strips have 5 ranges, so the result will fall within 1 of those ranges as designated by color on the strip. It's very easy to identify which range, so then you know the ppm range of the water hardness. I had a question when I saw the test result and read the manual for our dishwasher water softener.     Accurate reading on these test strips. I noticed that my new water softener didn’t seem to be making any difference on my actually water. Did a check and realized there wasn’t any soft water coming through. Changed out my plumbing and was able to check all the faucets and was able to see that it showed soft water with the test. Since there’s a lot of test strips, if you install a new water softener, you can actually test all your faucets to see which ones are soft water and which outdoor hose ports are still hardwater. Personally like this versus the electric water softener because I’m not going to always check the quality of my water. Save yourself the extra bucks and get this product instead.

If you buy this product and make that logical assumption you would be WRONG! Every single test strip in my package of 35 was loaded with the testing pad at the top :-(

    This “no-brainer” way of packaging their product obviously requires more of a brain that this manufacturer/packager put into it. Sad.
