City Mini vs Graco Aire3 Click Connect

City Mini vs Graco Aire3 Click Connect
My sister and I were both in the market for a new stroller. After lots of research, we both narrowed it down to two finalists- this stroller (2016 baby jogger city mini single) and the Graco Aire3 Click Connect. She ended up purchasing the Graco, and I purchased the City Mini. Since we couldn't find any great comparisons of the two strollers online, I decided to write one. We each brought our strollers to Disneyland for a week and pushed around a 3 and 5 year old. Both of the strollers fold the same way (so easy- one of the best features), push like a dream and maneuver very well, have big sunshades and the seats lay *almost* flat. We tested them side by side and they do lay back the exact same amount. CITY MINI: -rubber handlebar (feels better IMO) - taller handlebar (perfect for me, I'm 5'11") - no mesh in the sunshade which makes for less airflow, but more sun protection (I thought the airflow would be a big deal, but it really wasn't. Even in 90 degree weather. The extra shade was nice.) - smaller basket underneath (annoying) - no parent or child cup holders included (very annoying), but it does have a mesh bag on the back which is useful - seat is deeper, which is nice for bigger kids - doesn't stand well when folded - pushes a little bit smoother - has a little indent where kids can rest their feet. Not ideal, but better than nothing. - seems to be a little better quality - seat has mesh back when folded back. great for airflow, since the sunshade doesn't have any (see picture) Graco Aire3: -bigger tires -foam handlebar -slightly shorter handlebar (but still comfortable for a 5' 11" woman) -bigger basket -seat folds up to make a bassinet for a newborn (fun feature) -comes with parent console and child cup holder (the child one is somewhat useless so we just took it off for easier in and out) -sun shade has mesh area for more airflow which is nice, but the sun does shine through it sometimes which can be annoying -stands up nicely when folded -doesn't have a place for older children to rest their feet -the seat is more shallow (fine for babies and young toddlers, annoying for bigger kids) Overall, the Aire3 is a better value for the price. Especially since you don't have to buy the parent consoles or car seat adapter separately. Graco found all of the features that were missing from the City Mini and added them to their stroller. It was very thoughtfully designed. However, I don't regret my purchase at all, especially after pushing it for a week at Disney. It really does push like a dream, even one handed! I will add that both of the kids preferred riding in the City Mini, but they said that was because it was blue. I think the deeper seat and little footrest might have added to that. But who knows. Bottom line is that the Aire3 is definitely a better value for the price, but you really can't go wrong with either stroller. Also, in case anyone is wondering, the baby jogger glider board does work with the city mini (your child just has to stick their head through the handlebar, which my daughter doesn't mind), but does NOT work with the Aire3. I love this stroller. I'm only 5ft 2in & I read that the handle is too high for a short person, but I don't know how short that reviewer is. The handle is U shape & the highest part of the handle is very comfortable for me [I have long legs for a short woman, but I don't think that would make a difference]. The best thing is a strap in the seat that when you pull on it, the stroller easily fold so even I can put it in my trunk almost one handed. It also steers with one hand. The sunshade is very big with peekaboo windows that the fabric rolls up & Velcro out of the way. Only a couple negatives, one being the 2 part shoulder strap that are extra long. I know it's like that so you can get the child out easily & adjustable, but with a wiggling almost 8 month old [no I didn't invest in the anchor for the infant seat because my grandson fits fine since he was 10 lbs at birth] plus one who loves to chew on the extra long straps, I find those annoying. My daughter has a Chicco stroller & her shoulder straps are the same, so it's not a feature just in this stroller. Also you have to buy the front tray [and parent console in the back] separate. The underneath basket is small, but I have diaper bag that straps onto the stroller handle which I find more convenient than putting it underneath, plus my bag has ample room for my cellphone & bottle of water, so I'm good, but it's something to consider if you need that cup holder for yourself. If you need a stroller that's easy to handle, fold & unfold & store in your car this is a great stroller. One other plus, with a young grandchild, the back is very adjustable for sleeping or wide awake, with a squeeze of a clamp & a pull of a strap.

Love this stroller. We had the Bugaboo as main stroller and a MacLaren (sp?) for our on-the-go stroller. Both are gone because of this stroller. Perfect for our almost 3-yo's adventures to the park, strolls, zoos, etc. Comfortable for her with ample shade and easy to climb. Pleasant to push and a joy to fold up for me and my husband. Just undo the red straps, pull and poof, done. So light too, easy to lift with one hand. We bought the snack tray (make sure you get the Baby Jogger 2016 Child Tray - MB Single for a perfect fit) too. Wish we had found this earlier. OH and easy to assemble out of the box...probably took me 10 minutes.

We now have three strollers, and this one is my favorite. It's not the best workhorse stroller, and it's not the best jogging stroller, but if you need a great, all-purpose stroller, that is lightweight, folds compactly, can hold an infant car seat as an option, is light enough to be gate checked at an airport (less than 20 lbs.), and is rugged enough to tackle most surfaces (e.g., cobblestones and uneven pavement, along with dirt and gravel roads), look no further. We still use our original large stroller that came with the infant car seat, when we need a big workhorse stroller. And for real jogging, my husband still uses the Juvy 360. But for traveling, this is way better than those flimsy umbrella strollers, and we can use it for everyday use, as well.

Live love live this stroller! I bought it when my son turned 1 and his first stroller (evenflo pivot expand) became a little of a hassle to store and put together. We lived in a small apartment and needed something that folds pretty small and this stroller is amazing! It's heavier than I expected but also very smooth to push and maneuver. Very comfy for my son, still has a lot of room and we'll probably be using it until he grows out of using one all together. One minor issue I would improve on is that unless the child is in reclined/sleep position there is no mesh window or slats anywhere to allow for great airflow which can become and issue in the California heat.

I would recommend this stroller to anyone! And the price is just a cherry on top!
