Good ... but ... Does not brew a really hot cup of coffee.
3 out of 5 stars
Good ... but ... Does not brew a really hot cup of coffee.
K575 Review – I gave it 3 stars. I really wanted to give it more stars but it does not brew a really hot cup of coffee. Here is Good and the BadGood:1) Brews a good cup of coffee. I would suggest using the strong brew and do not go over 8 ozs.2) You can use your own coffee (look for compatible K-Cup refills). I bought 6 for $12.3) Fast – Pre-Heats in about a minute4) Auto-On/Off. I have mine set to 6:00 am so it is pre-heated when I wake up.5) 80 oz Reservoir6) I love the ease of use of the K-Cups.Bad:1) The heating adjustment is a joke. Keurig states that the water on high brews at 192 (default) when it hits the coffee. I measured the water temperature (No K-Cup installed) at 180. I then measured the temperature when coffee was brewed and it was at 166.5 (See pic). Why is Keurig so afraid of cranking up the heat??? I read the best coffee is brewed between 195-200. Huge disappointment here but I heard that is one of the downsides of these machines. When I wrote an email to them they told me to heat the coffee mug up … really? The whole purpose of using these machines is the ease of use.2) One of the reasons I bought the K575 was the Hot Water on Demand but I found out that the only way to get that is it must be left on ALL the time. If not, it goes into pre-heat mode and you have to wait for the hot water to be heated.Summary: I like the machine but I really wish that the “High Heat” mode were set to 195 and not 180. I might have a lemon and I will swap out for another one but I do not have high hopes.

I had the pleasure of using the Keurig K575 Coffee Maker, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by its sleek and modern design in platinum color, which added a touch of elegance to my kitchen.

What truly sets the Keurig K575 apart is its programmable features. I can customize the brew strength and choose from a wide variety of K-Cup pod options, making every cup of coffee a personalized experience. With an 80-ounce water reservoir, I never have to worry about refilling it frequently, which is incredibly convenient for my busy mornings.

The user-friendly touchscreen interface made brewing a breeze, and I could even set a timer to have my coffee ready when I wake up. The speed and efficiency of this coffee maker are remarkable, ensuring I get my caffeine fix without any hassle.

In terms of taste, the coffee produced by the Keurig K575 is consistently rich and flavorful. The machine extracts the full aroma and essence of the coffee beans, resulting in a delightful cup every time. Cleanup is a breeze with its removable drip tray and large capacity for used K-Cups.

Overall, the Keurig K575 Coffee Maker has become an indispensable part of my daily routine. The Keurig Thunderjava 5000 is a remarkable machine. Here's what you want to know up front:
    1. It makes the coffee and does it well.
    2. You do NOT seem to have to buy the special KCups with the QR code on the lid - I just discovered that yesterday when I threw in a non-coded tea KCup just to see what would happen and I was shocked. It brewed the tea without throwing a fit about my KCup. Bonus. I need to keep testing the theory, but so far, so good.
    3. I saw a lot of reviews complaining about clogging and grounds ending up in folks' java. I have had zero issues with clogging if I use the Keurig-approved KCups. Can't speak for the knockoffs, but I've never had to unclog this pup and never had it put anything but liquid coffee in the cup.

There are a lot of features on this thing I know I'm never going to use - and who can find the travel mug KCups in a grocery store? Great concept, I hope someday I find those cups. The night light is cute... completely unnecessary but if you're spending this much on something to make coffee, it better come with a light on it. And it amazes your friends. The hot water feature is nice. The strength feature is... I'm not sure if it actually makes the coffee stronger. I do see that it is trying to do something, but the coffee doesn't jump out at me as being particularly different. Where this thing really makes its money, though, is the programmable auto-on feature and the gigantic water tank. When I stumble into the kitchen at 5am, it's insert cup, press the huge flashing button, and sweet nectar of the gods comes blowing out of the thing while I blindly dump cat food into the cat bowl. By the time the cat food is put away, I have coffee. I go away, drink my coffee, the machine turns off, life moves on. It's glorious. I took my old K55 to the office where it dutifully keeps me alive the rest of the day. I got a refurb from Amazon and that was a great deal - much better price, the machine was pristine, and it works. The only issue was that they really, really could have stood to use one strip of tape on this battered box... my machine was halfway out of the box on my front porch when it arrived. Really glad Amazon uses such indestructible bubble wrap.

Great Coffee Maker - not flawless, but still great. The maker looks good, is easy do use, has a lot of options, has a good sized water well, and makes a hot cup of coffee. Been using it for several months, and don't know what I would do without it. I've read some reviews where they mentioned the coffee was not hot, but I haven't seen that at all. It's always hot. Now, if you add a pound of sugar or a quart of creamer (or anything for that matter), it will cool it off of course, but I can only sip it/let it sit after it is done brewing. It's hot, not scalding hot, but hot. No complaints from me there. Not to take away from how much I really like this coffee maker, here are a few of the potential cons (for others) that I've seen *just to be objective* - none of these bother me, just stuff I didn't realize when I purchased. The amount of coffee dispensed (various sizes up to 12oz can be selected for standard k-cup pods) is not consistent - sometimes it is [a little] less, sometime more - it's close, but noticeably off. Pre-heating does take a while (couple minutes), so can be a drag when trying to grab a cup and go. When preheating, you can hear it - it's not loud by my definition, but I can hear it in other rooms - there is no sneaking a cup of coffee around here :-) It is a larger maker, so you will probably want some counter space for it - didn't have any issues here with our countertop space, but it does have a "presence". All in all, it's a great coffee maker!
