Our Finnish grandparents brewed mushrooms when they couldn’t get coffee. Turns out those mushrooms—Chaga—are a powerful, immune-supporting Four Sigmatic food. That gave us an idea.

I purchased this Four Sigmatic Focus Mushroom Coffee because I heard it’s supposed to sharpen your brain and keep you going. It’s got lion’s mane and chaga mushrooms mixed with regular coffee. First off, it smells and tastes like good, dark coffee—no weird mushroom taste at all, which I was worried about. I brewed it up in my drip machine, and it’s strong but smooth. After a cup, I felt awake and dialed in, no jitters or crash like with some other brews. It’s a bit pricier than my usual grounds, but for the focus it gives me when I’m working or fixing stuff around the house, I’d say it’s worth it. Solid pick for a guy who wants coffee that does more than just wake you up.

Was absolutely loving my Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee with Lions Mane & Chaga.
Unfortunately, the first delivery arrived with a small tear in the coffee bag. Disappointing, as I was looking forward to trying it and since this damaged packaging would likely have affected the taste of the coffee I chose to dispose of it on my compost heap.
The damaged bag was swiftly refunded by Amazon. Waited another day for my replacent order to arrive. Having been a Lavazza or Illy coffee drinker for a number of years I did not expect this coffee with mushrooms to taste anywhere as good. Well what a surprise! Using an espresso machine it makes a fantastic coffee with a great crema, resembling a well poured pint of Guinness.
Benefits of Lions Mane & Chaga, maybe too early to say after 4 coffees. Will update review if any noticeable effect is observed but rest assured there is no mushroom taste and I would definitely purchase again. 👍
Have had this on subscribe & save but had to cancel due to the repeated problem with damaged bags. Some of the bags I purchased are "vacuum type sealed" IE. The bag comes as a firm block without any air in the packaging, but have now received multiple orders that are apparently damaged and air is present. Any coffee lover will know that exposure to air will cause the coffee to degrade and change the flavour. Disappointed at this price as I loved this coffee. Am now looking for an alternative to Four Sigmatic or maybe I just need to find an alternative supplier to Amazon that stores perishable goods correctly? 🤔
