Must get for dark humor

- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2025"Cards Against Humanity" is an absolute riot, perfect for those who enjoy dark humor and aren't easily offended. This card game brilliantly combines simple gameplay with shockingly funny content, making it a staple for game nights with friends. Each round, you'll find yourself laughing at the absurd and often inappropriate combinations that emerge, sparking creativity and hilarity in equal measure. The game's ability to provoke thought while delivering non-stop entertainment makes it a must-have for anyone looking to add a bit of edgy fun to their social gatherings.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2025Total fun and absolutely hilarious! Definitely NOT for the prudish type. Plan to be as irreverent as possible.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2025Love this game so much. The more friends the more fun you'll have. Careful when it comes to family or kids. However, for adults it is absolutely hilarious. We've taken the game to bars and clubs to play with friends and even made new friends just playing it. Cannot recommend enough.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2025Such a great game! Loads of fun for those ADULT game nights! Would not recommend for anyone under the age of 18! Easy to play, the adult version of apples to apples. Lots of crude humor that may not be suitable for anyone under 18.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2013As others have said there is some very serious price gouging with this game. You can find it anywhere from $30-100 depending on how available it is so my best advice is to just be patient if it isn't in stock.
With that being said I will say that this game can literally be hours of fun but only for the right group of people. If you are easily offended, sensitive to certain topics, or young you probably should keep going. This isn't something you would want to whip out at the church youth group gatherings or a boy scouts camping trip. You may not want your 80 year old grandma playing it either... better yet get her to play it... there is a pacman card she probably should read out loud.
Starting with the basics:
Packaging. The deck comes in a fairly plain box wrapped in plastic. The box has some basic info on it and is durable enough to stand up to a few years of use easily. It is more durable than a lot of game boxes but it is obviously still cardboard. Inside you will find the deck as well as a simple rules card.
Cards. Pretty simple design. They are mostly blank with some black or white text. They are about as durable as any quality playing card and have a plastic coating with a slight texture. The game cards and the expansion cards are different card stock. They have a slightly different feel and look to them and according to the box it appears the game is made in the US while the expansions are made in China.
Replay value. If you are playing with the same group of people the value is not very high. You can have fun but it will lose its appeal quick. It is really a good game for drinking and socializing. Another issue is that, after playing with the same people, you sort of know what to expect from them which can lead to a bias. As strange as it sounds the more intelligent the group the funnier some of the hands become because you get some really interesting results. Playing with close friends or family can also turn up some pretty funny inside jokes hidden inside the hands. In the end I would say that it is fun with regulars but bringing new people in is where this game shines. It is always fun to see a new player come in not knowing what to expect and playing fairly safe cards and then watching them slowly become an incredibly twisted person before the end of the game.
Humor. The humor in the game is sort of vulgar and sometimes random. Some cards appear innocent until you find a perfect spot to put them and some just appear flat out racist and the only thing keeping it from being racist is because everyone is insulted at some point. If you don't have a relatively twisted sense of humor this probably isn't the game for you.
Conclusion. It is worth buying. Everyone I have played with seems to want a copy and it is a really good ice breaker when meeting new people as long as you know they will go along with it. You don't want to take it into a super religious or proper household but it is a ton of fun with friends you know would get the humor in it. It is a great way to form new friendships and learn just how twisted your old friends are. For $25 it is well worth picking up and you will get your money worth out of just one round easily.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2023Cards Against Humanity is the ultimate party game that has taken the world by storm. It's a game of dark humor, absurdity, and making the most hilariously inappropriate combinations possible. The rules are simple - players take turns drawing black cards that contain fill-in-the-blank statements, and everyone else submits their funniest white card to complete the sentence.
The beauty of this game lies in its absurdity and the freedom it gives players to let their imaginations run wild. With a collection of over 500 white cards featuring everything from pop culture references to crude jokes, the possibilities for laugh-out-loud moments are endless.
What sets Cards Against Humanity apart is its ability to bring out the inner comedian in everyone. It's a game that thrives on pushing boundaries and challenging social norms, making it a hit at parties and gatherings with friends who share a twisted sense of humor.
One of the best things about Cards Against Humanity is that it's highly customizable. There are countless expansion packs available, each adding new cards and themes to keep the gameplay fresh and exciting. Whether you're into pop culture, science, or just downright bizarre scenarios, there's an expansion pack that caters to your taste.
However, it's important to note that Cards Against Humanity is not for the easily offended or those who shy away from dark humor. It's explicitly designed for adult players with a taste for the irreverent and the outrageous.
In conclusion, Cards Against Humanity is the ultimate party game for adults who enjoy pushing the boundaries of humor. It's a game that guarantees laughter, memorable moments, and a whole lot of fun. Just be prepared for the unexpected, as you never know what kind of hilarity will ensue when the cards are dealt!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2025Fun game but after about three or four times playing it gets old because you already familiar with the cards.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2025Everyone had a good time and laughing. Best thing that can happen when playing a game and not in an electronic. Fun for get together and getting people involved in something other than a screen
