- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2019Surprising good picture quality. Even when I view next to my Sony Bravia. Nice picture control also. For some reason on my PS4 input HDR color is set to off by default, so you might want to change that.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2019I upgraded to this from an LG IPS. The blacks are so much better and my LG had a nasty auto-dim feature you can’t turn off. I have absolutely no complaints about this TVs display, but like another reviewer, mine has an inexplicably slow WiFi connection. The whole remote and streaming experience isn’t my favorite either, but that can be different for everyone. Paired with Apple TV 4K, this is a great TV for me.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2018I have had no issue with the smart cast like to other response. It has a great review from the new York times
- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2020Picture is great (especially at this price range). But that's where the good news ends.
Sound is ok. Nothing to brag about, but I have no complaints. I wasn't expecting surround sound at this price point.
But the software is a PITA.
It worked when I got it, and they they FORCED me to load updates. I didn't have a choice. It wouldn't do anything until I loaded them.
1st thing that broke was the home screen. It no longer appears on start up. I have to use the remote to load one of the apps (such as netflix) and then exit the app to get to the home screen.
Then apps started to freeze. During while loading and some times during playback (which would require shutting the whole TV off, unplugging, and waiting a minute, and then restart).
Then some apps stopped working altogether. Try to load youtube for example and the TV just goes to blank screen and stays there until I unplug it.
And it never had an HBO app. What's with that? so no, you CANNOT watch HBO on this TV. I got around it by canceling my HBO subscription and then adding HBO to my Prime subscription. Who doesn't make an HBO app for a TV???
There are also other apps you can't get.
You're better off forgetting all about the "Smart" features and just get a separate Roku box and hook it up. Roku has all the apps I need, works flawlessly, and loads faster than this stupid thing too.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2018After much research I purchased this TV for its picture quality and am not disappointed. I really like the ability to customize the picture (color, brightness, contrast, etc.) and watch in various lighting conditions. The glare from the room lights and windows is much reduced compared to my old TV. I really Like all the input options... Dish receiver, DVD, internet, USB, etc. Have had some issues syncing with the SmartCast phone app and freezing up with Amazon Prime streaming but hard to say if that’s the TV or my internet connection.
The audio however, sucks. The speaker is tinny sounding and I have to crank the speaker to full volume to hear some You Tube videos. But I was easily able to hook it up to my 30+ year old stereo with the audio output connection which greatly improved the sound quality. So unless you still have an old JVC stereo with dual cassette tape players hanging around, I’d recommend a sound bar. Overall, very happy with my first Smart TV.
EDIT
I’m dropping my rating of this TV to just 2 stars. Turns out the WiFi connection is a problem with the TV, not my internet. I can’t make it through even an hour of streaming without SmartCast disconnecting. I know it’s the Vizio because I can stream the exact same stuff on another TV with Apple TV and it never disconnects. Huge PIA since I have to exit whatever I’m watching and reestablish WiFi connection before continuing to watch.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2021We bought this TV from another vendor (reason for lack of verified purchase).
For a year and a half, the TV was mostly great. The only issues we've had is that the TV keeps an open WiFi network on a lot of the time and it interferes with our home WiFi that sits adjacent to the TV. We've also had issues switching HDMI devices and getting an offset green block or lines; a power cycle would always fix this issue.
Unfortunately, after two years of ownership we're have LED backlight issues. To be fair, this TV has seen us of approximately 6-12 hours a day. We've run the brightness at ~25-50 for most of its life. For half of that, Clear Action was on which pulses the LED's.
Recently, a middle right LED strip has failed completely. The bottom left first 2-3 LED strips are beginning to fail; at lower brightness settings they are very dim resulting in a dark corner of 1/4 of the display. We've bought time by increasing the backlight brightness to full; the failed LED strip remains off but the adjacent ones keep is unnoticeable unless there is a white screen/ad. The bottom-left backlights display properly at full brightness but we assume they will fail soon.
This issues seems to affect a lot of "F1" models including "P55-F1", etc. You can find this out by doing a Google search. The fix is to generally replace defective LED strips or replace them all at a cost of ~$20-100. This assumes you do the work yourself and there's a fair amount of risk of cracking the LCD display on removal.
I personally regret purchasing this TV. We had a smaller Samsung it replaced that still works after ~8 years although it has gray spot where its controller sits on the back of the LCD display. I would however prefer that mild annoyance to a dead backlight strip.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2019I purchased my TV at Best Buy a few months ago and I was thrilled. But now, it is freezing up, not responding to the remote, shutting off and sometimes not coming on. When it is working, it's great. The problems are hit and miss, sometimes it works fine for days, other times not so much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great picture
Best in its class. It's no qled but it's great! The sound tops out and bottoms out alot but Meh that's expected now a days. Just get a sound bar.
Unlike others have stated there's no issues with the wifi on this TV.
At least the 5Ghz connection, never tried the 2.5Ghz.
Can stream 4k shows from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video with no buffering at all.
I would suggest if anyone has issues to split your old 2.5Ghz signal from your 5Ghz signal on your AP or router so you know its using the right one and not the outdated 2.5Ghz.
