Cup of Hot Spiced Cider - Place one R.W. Knudsen Family® spice bag in an 8 oz. cup. Add hot R.W. Knudsen Family Organic Apple Juice; Steep for 5 minutes. Enjoy this blend of R.W. Knudsen Family Organic Mulling Spices as well as other R.W. Knudsen Family products. Pot of Hot Spiced Cider - Bring (2) 32 fl. oz. jars of R.W. Knudsen Family Organic Apple Juice to a simmer over medium heat and add eight R.W. Knudsen Family spice bags per half gallon. Steep 5 minutes; serve hot.

I haven't actually tasted this yet, we'll find out how it is... As you can tell in the photo, the box of spices arrived already having been opened with only 24 packets of mulling spices present.. So my best guess is that someone either already had it shipped to them, opened it and tried it, then returned it, or for some reason someone just took one before shipping it to me. Either way, I was pretty surprised and upset when I opened the package and found it like that.

    We had an overabundance of apples on our trees this year and I canned and froze tons of them. I purchased this to add to chopped apples for making strudel, hand pies and chunky applesauce. The apple oatmeal spice cookies with a couple teaspoons of this, were terrific too! It really adds something special to these dishes.

    On a whim, I added it to the slow cooker with the apple cider, chunky apples and the ribs. WOW, what a great change from BBQ sauce! As for a mid-winter hot drink, it can't be beat. These are in the form of tea bags, but you can open the little packs and use like a spice blend.There is no reason to make my own mulling spices any more. I will be ordering this again.

    I was looking for a mix of spices to make mulled wine and this one was really tasty. The only reason I'm not giving this a 5-star review is that the taste of cinnamon is a bit overpowering. It drowns out the other spices and if I let it steep even for a little bit longer it can be really unpleasant after a few sips.

    I can't seem to find mulled wines since I moved to the US but my sister recommended looking for these. They look like tea-bags and I've been able to re-use them for mulling wine over a couple of days or so. If you're after something similar then hopefully you won't make the same mistake I did and let them sit in the wine for so long they made it a bit TOO rich. It's fine just swishing it a few times or letting it sit for a minute.

    I sincerely doubt there is any sugar in here, but it seems to make the cider a little sweeter. More a matter a preference. My only complaint is that I can't seem to get the bags to sink without wrapping them around a spoon. It just feels like the trapped air is inhibiting the steeping process. It still tastes good, so I am nit picking.
