It's hard to review a toaster. It makes toast, and this model is no exception. The bagel button toasts bagels. The fit and finish, including the dial, buttons, and the lever action, all feel sturdy and well made. All I can really do is debunk some observations in other reviews.
First, my unit did NOT produce any smell it shouldn't have. First use smell is likely the coil heating for the first time, and it's not unusual for any appliance. We just installed a new heating element in our drier, and it produced a foul smell for the first run. This is normal, and to the best of my knowledge is non-toxic.
Our unit doesn't get hot enough on top to burn your fingers. Granted, we prefer lightly toasted, so we don't turn it up past 3.5, but it's been warm at best after any toast we've made on pretty hot days.
What else is there to say? If it ever breaks down prematurely, I'll return to let you know, but it's a great looking appliance that does what it is supposed to. It makes toast.

It’s Cute, happy, and it works for a budget
Toasters are silly things that, if picked right, tend to make a place not only on your kitchen counter but also in your heart. I think that’s why I spent so much time researching them. I’ve been without a toaster for more than a year now. During which time I’ve spent hours going back and forth about this toaster or that. I’ve talked with friends and family and read all the reviews. Finally, I found myself looking at two different toasters in my Amazon Cart, the Bella you see here and a much more expensive Italian designed job that just keep calling to me. From everything I could tell, both toasters stood as equals in all categories but one, PRICE! Both had amazing ratings, both look Retro, both function the same way with the same extras and they both make toast! (That last one being right important considering) but when it all came down to it, I couldn’t over look the fact that I could buy 6 Bella Toasters for the price of one of the Italian super star toasters. The way I look at it, this little Bella is going to last me a long time and if in a few years it goes the way of the earth so be it. I’ll buy another and so on. Final word friends, it feels like quality, works like a clock, and looks cute as you pleas sitting on my counter. Love this little toaster! It’s toasters like these that inspired cartoons to be made about them :)

I have to be honest. My rating is based on the color alone. My current kitchen decor is shades red with green accents. My toaster is cherry red and looks nice and toasts my one slice of rye bread every morning. At the vernal equinox the whole kitchen will be changed. The red and green will be put away until the fall and be replaced with shades of blue with yellow accents. Well - I couldn't have a red toaster now could I? I found out that blue is not as popular as red for kitchens so finding a blue toaster wasn't easy. I was almost ready to give up and use my old white toaster when I found this one. I did use it once just to make sure it worked. It does. It made the bread into toast. (What do you want? Coffee too?) OK I get it. I'm nuts. But this is a newly remodeled kitchen and I am having fun decorating. I've attached a photo of the blue decor. As you can see, my old white toaster is there on the white counter. Boring! Just image this lovely blue toaster there instead. So - as I said - this rating is based on the color. LOL

This toaster is not worth your time or effort.
Yes, this is pretty and does fit the length of bread we like to toast. It arrived well packaged and without any noticeable flaws.
Since using it, we found it doesn't toast evenly and because of either poor materials or poor design/manufacturing will hang up not allowing it to shut-off/cancel the toasting process. We have had to unplug it to cancel toasting and get our toast out.
Looking down inside of the toaster we can see where one of the bread supports angles downward as well as is bent and when toasting has tangs that will get caught under the side bread holding frame's on that side of the toaster.
We are not happy with this unit. We do understand that there are a few bad items in every product line but this one and the other reviews we have read are showing that this is simply a bad product.
Our purchase of it was based upon the number of good reviews we read. Hopefully our review will help prevent others from getting a bad product.
