For centuries, cooks have taken advantage of the natural heat retention and redistribution properties of cast iron. Staub builds on this tradition with our enameled cast iron cookware. Black matte enamel inside and cooking surface creates a culinary advantage for better browning, braising, and roasting. Colorful enamel outside adds flare to your kitchen and table. Safe for use on all types of heat sources, including gas, electric, and induction, and oven safe up to 500F. Chip resistant and dishwasher safe. Made in France.

I purchased this because I did not want to deal with a bare cast iron grill. I am not sure it's worth the money as I tried some bacon and it cooked uneven. The middle/center was done but the ends of the bacon strips were raw. I even took pictures of the cooking process in hopes of posting it somewhere. I think it's because the gas hits the center of the grill and the heat disperses outward. By the time the heat reaches the putter edges it's not hot enough. Staub and Le creuset should have a disclaimer about their 'even cooking' ad. It only cooks evenly when you put the entire thing in the oven !!
Second one purchased and its as good as advertised. Even cooking, relatively easy clean up and durable. If you can deal with the heavy weight of this type pan, you really can improve your cooking, especially once seasoned.
High quality. Very expensive. Attractive piece which complement not only the cooking area but the dinner table as well. Expect it to last for many years.
