What else can i say? This is duct tape. A lot of uses for anything and everything. I cut several feet from this big roll and wrapped it around a plastic card and keep it in my car, travel pack and when doing long, chill bike rides. I found that it helps when the surface or material to be patched or bound is prepped and clean from as much dust, dirt and oil as possible. This makes the duct tape stick better.

Duct tape is great. It works well for all of the things that people have used it for over the years. I was never able to rip it like my husband did as if it were a slice of bread. I couldn't make it budge. I was able to tear through this with no trouble even though I don't have much strength in my hands. Of course, it isn't as heavy as it used to be. Maybe they make industrial strength now, but for my usage of the occasional Christmas box closing, it really works better for me.

so far used it to patch some sneakers (toe hole), but over the years - paper, cardboard boxes, heck once on a three day overnight camping trip in the Acadia National Park, the soles of my boots broke off, and I used this tape to hold them together while hiking. To be fair I wasn't putting them through the most intense paces for example a Trail Crew would, but they took a beating and I made it through. Maybe that was an extraordinary confluence of circumstances, but can't go wrong with duct tape. One thing is that this tape is pretty shiny, so I might get the matte version - could be useful for certain applications

Did your landlord do a crappy job installing your bathroom shelves? Duct tape 'em. Battery pack of your Christmas lights won't stay closed? Duct tape it. And on and on, ad infinitum...

I have a tuxedo cat. His name is Sidney. He is a holy terror on ice skates. One of his favorite things to do is to open the sliding doors of my bedroom closet and perform his best Tasmanian Devil impersonation, taking out his multitude of frustrations on my clothing. I have tried to dissuade him from opening my closet doors in many different ways: wedging cardboard between the doors, in the tracks, propping large sketchbooks between the door and wall... I have even tried *industrial strength* velcro on the edge of the closet door and the wall! I couldn't get my closet open at that point, but Sidney still could!!

I'd considered duct tape before, but thought, 'Duct tape won't work... If Sid can get past velcro, duct tape won't have a chance.'

Finally, out of sheer desperation, I tried it. And.... it worked! Three strips at eye level seems to work best- strong enough to hold the door closed, and high enough that he can't chew through it. O duct tape! Why did I ever doubt thee?! ;)

True story; I was riding my motorcycle in the mountains one day, and I stumbled across an alien spacecraft that had landed in a small grove of trees. The alien was waving at me so I pulled over. You have to understand, we motorcyclists always help other travelers if we can, because we know how horrible it is to be stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Thankfully he was able to communicate through some advanced technology and showed me a part of his ship was damaged, and needed some structural re-enforcement. I gave him the tape so if he needed more later, he'd have it, and he flew off to tell all his friends.

If I have inadvertently trigged the invasion of Earth by an alien species for our precious duct tape, I'm truly sorry. Maybe we can set up a trade partnership.
