From the manufacturer

Behmor Connected Brewing System

The Behmor Connected Brewer was engineered so that everyone could enjoy barista style coffee at home while customizing to their brewing preferences. Joe Behm, Behmor’s founder, set out to remove the variables that cause the most common problems in coffee brewing: over or under extraction, improper temperature, and inadequate saturation.

The Behmor brewer heats the water directly in the reservoir above the coffee grounds so that no heat is lost during brewing. It also features pulsed water flow and a large showerhead to fully saturate the grounds. A pre-soak option allows the coffee to fully bloom before brewing to ensure the perfect flavors in your cup.

The mobile app allows users even more control over coffee brewing allowing them to set altitude, brewing temperature, and pre-soak time, while saving preferences to their ‘favorites’. The most recent innovation to the Connected brewer is the ability to integrate with Amazon’s Dash Replenishment Service. This enables the Behmor Connected to detect when you are low on coffee, and can automatically reorder beans before you run out.

Let’s Talk Coffee

Let Alexa be your barista. With the Amazon Echo you can speak directly to your Behmor brewing system and say things like, 'Alexa, ask Behmor to start brewing my favorite coffee.' The Brewer also works with Amazon’s Dash replenishment to automatically reorder beans when supplies begin to run low.

Easy to Use App

The free Behmor app is available for Apple (iOS 7 and higher) and Android devices (4.0 and higher) and connects via wi-fi. Simple to use screens allow you to customize your brew, save to favorites, and enjoy barista level coffee at home.

Superior Flavor

The Behmor Connected Coffee Maker is engineered differently than other coffee makers to ensure a terrific cup of coffee. The easy to use app allows for easy adjustments of brewing parameters. The oversized showerhead and pulsed water flow fully extract the coffee grounds. The result is coffee brewed to its true profile and greatest flavor - fruity, chocolaty, floral and/or bold. Enjoy coffee at home like it should be.

Temperature Control

The Behmor Connected allows you set the brewing temperature from 190-210°. The water brewing temperature is critical for ideal coffee extraction and is recommended between 195-205°. The brewing temperature can even be calibrated to your elevation above sea level since water boils at lower temperatures the higher the elevation.

Through these efforts, Behmor Inspired has:
  • Supported over 130,000 people in Guatemala alone and over 220,000 total worldwide
  • Donated nearly 700 roasters to national coffee associations
  • Toured worldwide and donated to associations in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Perú, México, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Uganda, Philippines and India

Behmor Inspired

Behmor founder Joe Behm is on a quest to bring the roaster and brewers he created back to the farmer. He regularly travels to foreign countries to offer tastings to farmers and talk about their work. His passion started after he developed his flagship product, the Behmor Coffee Roaster, when he followed the coffee bean back to its origin. He wanted to discover everything he could about it, literally getting his hands dirty with the soil it grows in.

Discovering that many farmers in Guatemala and other coffee producing countries hadn’t ever tasted the end result of their hard work, Joe partnered with Anacafé to provide Behmor Customizable Drum Coffee Roasters to community co-ops and training centers, where farmers connect and get support. Now farmers can roast and cup their own coffee. Learning how their coffee tastes better with improved soil and growing conditions ultimately means farmers can earn a better living with their product. The program has spread from there.

Worth the Alexa integration, but you'll have to compromise on functionality but not coffee quality.
4 out of 5 stars
Worth the Alexa integration, but you'll have to compromise on functionality but not coffee quality.
This adventure started off on bad grounds... coincidentally we started a new bag of our favorite daily coffee with this brewer. What a mistake... the bag was apparently bad/different than usual but of course we blamed the brewer. So my first suggestion is, if possible, use a bag of beans that you actually know and or do a side by side taste test if you feel the brewer is at fault. That said, you will want to play with the settings, temperature and soak times, to see the effect on the cup. Since we figured it was the brewer/settings at fault we went through a wide range of temperatures and bloom times and it did make an effect on the taste but since the beans were fundamentally bad we didn't really enjoy this experience (we drink a dark French roast and the bag was definitely not that but we didn't believe the beans could be that off, they were). Once we got a new bag, things were much better and the cup is more like before. Since I got tired of the settings "game" experience with the bad bag, I haven't really played with them on the bag. The 200 and 15 seconds seems ok. I would say go to coffee forums if you want to know/discuss the effects and reasons for changing these settings. Ok back to the brewer itself. I like the look and like metal not glass carafe. But the carafe is a small "8" cups. The carafe lid is horrible. Doesn't seal so doesn't keep coffee as hot as our previous carafe. Has a terrible pour spout design that splashes and as others have said, basically need to remove the lid and turn carafe completely upside down to get to "the last drop" which you will be doing since as mentioned this is a small 8 cups. Heed the advice and get "tall" coffee filters otherwise wet grounds will get to the top and start to overflow. We never had that big of a mess in the basket but it was clear that normal height filters were a disaster in waiting. So after a few months we just did experience our first leaving water behind experience. No idea why. It only went from about the 8 cup level to the 6 and said the brew was done with no other error. No mess or leaks it just didn't pour through all the water. I dumped the remaining hot water, refilled with cool water and reran a quick brew and it worked. So just some random malfunction.... the day before we are due to host an out of town guest for a week!-P For now I'm still only docking one star because the convenience of being able to start the brew from bed when you wake up naturally is great... Alexa tell behmor to start QuickStart is a mouthful in the morning but when followed by Alexa set reminder for 13 minutes to wake me up, it is ok. I wish the Alexa reminder was automatic from the behmor brewer's notification... I'll have to setup an IFTTT script for that. I really hope that behmor makes a better carafe, I would buy it. And then I hope they make a bigger version 10 cup. Also the size seems daunting but IMO it is about the same size as our previous 10 cup maker... only issue is that it uses that size for only a small 8 cup capacity. The app could use a lot of improvements, but I've commented on that elsewhere.

Have only had this for a little over a week but so far, it's been awesome. Replaced a rusting out Cuisinart that stained my counter top after just two years. For Dunkin fans, has a Dunkins preset that we have made our default which we use with Dunkin fresh ground bags. There a ton of options. We have ,mainly used one. Will be testing others at some point. Did see some complaints about time to brew. Does take about 10 mins but well worth the wait. With the old one, we'd have to drop into the microwave for a few seconds before drinking. Not with the Behmor. Coffee comes out piping hot yet very drinkable.

There was some concern pre-purchase about have to rely on phones to brew but with Quick Star set with a Diunk profile with one push of a button a few mins, great coffee. The app is well designed and easy to use. Would like to see some options for a two cup batch. The carafe keeps the brew warm for hours. Somewhat annoying , is we have had to take the cover off during first pour of a 4 -up brew, else it leaks out the input. May take some getting used to to avoid spilling. Certainly not a major issue.

The Behmor skill has been as advertised. Brews coffee via voice control. Although fun at first, especially when waking up or showing friends. Most recently have been setting the brew time for next day and waking up to a brew. The app sends a notice to phone that the coffee is ready. The app is really easy to use. Press favorites, later, then time. Easy as that. Would be great if the skill could be integrated with an Alexa routine - Say Good Morning, Alexa turns on the lights, gives weather update, then kicks of the brew. - Maybe someday.

Size-wise - A bit taller then our previous maker, but takes up less counter space then the Keurig we were considering. We haven't tried to brew only 1 cop. We either do the four 8-oz cups, or two . Even with just two, he coffee is nice and hot. Pouring water into the reservoir is easy. Time will tell l if it holds up. If lasts longer than last one, will l be great. Very happy so far.

I wish there was an option for 0. Do not be fooled by positive reviews. This coffee maker is frustration in a box. First, let me say it is a lot bigger than I imagined a standard size coffee maker. It has a water reservoir on top that holds calibrations, 6 and 8 cup capacity. It has a basket with a permanent filter, and solid metal base which holds the carafe. Where do I start?

    1. APP - The app is rated 3.2 and it should be rated -1. First the app is not at all intuitive. It comes from a cloud company called DADO. It seems like an easy enough dream to set up. Download the app. Plug in the machine, connect to DADO, then let DADO find your wifi and you're connected to the internet. After you're connected to the internet brew options are craft, brew and cool (being nonsensical things being advertised that no person who pays $250 for a coffee machine would care about like Starbucks coffee blends). If it were that simple to set up I would give the maker at least 3 stars even it made decent coffee, but it's not. What about when you app won't find DADO? What about when it does, DADO won't connect to your wifi? What about when it does, it continuously says your coffee maker is offline and offers no remedy other than wait until it finishes brewing (But it's not brewing cause you just plugged it in!) So let's say you do get it connected and you're super excited about brewing your first pot of coffee...

    2. The "pot" of coffee cause you can only brew a pot. Slow bars craft coffee by the cup, then will not let you brew anything less than 5 cups. So I spend $25-$40 on beans imported from all over the world and I have to waste have the coffee because this thing won't let you brew less than six cups??? Let's talk about that brew...

    3. Be prepared to waste a pound of coffee trying to perfect the settings. Yes, it does let you select the temperature, pre-soak time, and number of cups (6 or 8), but that is really it. If you used to your Chemex, V60 or Aeropress, you better sit down and calculate because you have to get your grind right, your temp right and what you're not going to control is your extraction time. So it's hit or miss and your first couple of tries will produce some of the rankiest tasting coffee ever.

    4. But let's talk about that carafe. Yes, the carafe does keep your coffee super hot. But to pour from the carafe is ridiculous. It has a spout but unless you're waiting for your kids to grow up between pours, yo u're going to have to take the top off and release the heat in order to get anything remotely like a regular pour from a regular carafe. This is the worst carafe construction ever because no coffee actually comes out of the pouring spout, it comes out the heat release holes on top of the carafe. Freaking insane.

    5. So for $250 bucks you're going to get a substandard cup of coffee, with an iffy "connected" app. Oh did I mention, you can program your brew? Yep you can program when your brew goes off. But um when that time comes, it's not going to move forward until you tell you confirm that you have water in your maker. So programming is useless i f say, you want your coffee ready when you wake up in the morning unless you actually press the button to confirm that you've put water in the brewer. That's so NOT counter intuitive.

I like Behmor. They're roasters are great, coffee makers not so much.

5.0 out of 5 stars This a great coffee maker
Reviewed in Canada on February 7, 2018
This a great coffee maker. Very simple to use and makes perfect coffee every time. The app is pretty basic but gives enough options to get the coffee just the way you like it. Of course you will have to experiment with options to find YOUR golden cup. But that's half the fun. As for the 6 to 8 cups only NOT TRUE I can brew 1 or more. The default cup is a 6oz cup not 12oz mug. ex to get one cup (12oz) add water to the calibration line set to 6 cup add the appropriate amount of coffee start your brew eze peze. Like any coffee maker you can set it to start anytime you like. The only complaint I have is that the app to doesn't connect to the amazon Echo in Canada but that seems to be Amazon issue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome coffee maker
Reviewed in India on February 13, 2018
I have tried so many coffee makers. But the coffee they made wasn’t up to the mark. Most of them have plastic water container. This one has stainless steel. And it has certifications from the coffee association in US. The temperature can be controlled. This is feature is not available in most of the coffee makers. That too between 195 and around 205 F. And we can also steep the water in coffee for the time we set. That’s also an awesome feature. The app is super simple. Love this coffee maker. This needs a 3000 watt 220 to 110v step down transformer if you aren’t living in the US. But it’s worth it.

2.0 out of 5 stars In truth, it’s disapointing
Reviewed in Canada on May 20, 2018
Truth is, it’s a good coffee maker. Not great, not amazing, but good. We’ve been using it a few months now and the Bluetooth is a great feature because I can start the coffee from bed (our baby has variable wake up times so this is key), but the app is terrible. I know what you’re thinking “it can’t be that bad” (because that’s what I thought), but it is that bad. Also, once you’ve poured the first cups the second cup is cold... not warm, cold.

It is unfortunate because I had high hopes. We’ll keep using it obviously because it cost so much, but I would recommend buying something else (or buying mine second hand so I can buy something else!)

5.0 out of 5 stars I do love this Coffee Maker!
Reviewed in Canada on December 4, 2017
I do love this Coffee Maker - had it now for a few months - it's a bit geeky at first with the Bluetooth stuff and to be honest - now that I have the defaults set up the way I make my coffee 95% of the time... I generally just press the start button and be done with it.... it does make fabulous coffee.. for myself and the Wife... the Coffee pot size (8 cup) is just perfect. (Only capable of brewing 6 or 8 cups BTW and note that's a standard 6 oz cup!) - Only problem I find is that if I want to use the 10 cup paper filters they are not quite big enough and sometimes the grounds may spill over the paper filter a little... but generally I just use the gold metal filter that comes with it.
