- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2022I choose the rating because I loved the ideas/themes presented in the comic. The ideas were relevant, the way those ideas worked into the story made the comic a read that I truly enjoyed. The comic had many quotes I loved and the art is pretty awesome. Also, I am enjoying Kamala Khan’s character so much. We explore a lot with other characters and there is something really unique and fun about this comic series ( is that what it is called) overall.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2015Ms. Marvel, Vol. 2: Generation Why features Kamala Khan's continuing adventures. During the day, she's a nerdy Pakistani-American girl living in Jersey City, New Jersey, and by night, a crime-fighting shape shifter. In this volume, she's up against the Inventor, who is using teenage kids to power his giant robots. She teams up with Wolverine and finds out more about why she has super powers. Is she a mutant? Is she an alien? Will she join the X-Men? The Fantastic Four?
What makes Ms. Marvel work is that it's a fun, new comic about a fun, new character who just happens to live in the Marvel universe. Ms. Marvel would be a very good comic if it were an Image title, but as a Marvel title, it's great because she gets to meet Wolverine and a host of already-established characters while still maintaining the feel of an independent comic. It's funny, engaging, and fun, and it receives my highest recommendations. *****
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2015The new Ms. Marvel is here and it's good... Just not great. I would recommend this to anyone who loved first but realize your getting a more hit and miss book than the first. First the good. Kamala is still a very fun, very likeable character that you want to read about. Wolverine guests stars in the first portion and Willow Wilson does a great job of threading the needle. Wolverine is a big character with a lot of baggage but he doesn't steal the show. Kamala stands like an equal all while keeping up the charm and fun.
That said there are noticeable cracks in the foundations. There is a theme throughout about the current generation being lazy, entitled and even parasitic. It basically refers to Kamala's generation a waste and sets her up a means to prove that wrong. It doesn't work well and that dead horse gets beat hard and repeatedly.
Still if you can turn your brain off a bit, it's a great ride. Fun characters, great action, and an art style that is unique and joyful. There's lots to like here but don't expect perfection.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2015I read Ms. Marvel Volume 1: No Normal back in December and immediately pre-ordered this one. I finished this in about an hour, if that tells you anything about how much I enjoyed it. I was a slave to this story.
Volume 2 is wonderfully reminiscent of the previous collection's fun and witty humor. The stakes are higher, but the author does a fantastic job of weaving between kick-butt action scenes and comic relief sequences à-la-Kamala. She also continues to tie in Kamala's Pakistani-Muslim heritage in a way that doesn't mask the overall plot. I really liked the teacher figures in Kamala's life. I'm a sucker for mentor-student relationships that help guide the superhero to his/her destiny. Kamala seems to have grown more comfortable with herself and her role as Ms. Marvel in this collection. That she can remain positive and strong in the face of adversary is truly admirable. Quite a few people are saying that this is the first time they have felt truly connected to a comic book character since Peter Parker (Spider Man), and I agree. They are very similar in nature; funny, playful, loyal, and heroic.
The artwork is stunning as ever and the panels are easy to follow. Fans of the first volume will love this next installment as they embark on Kamala's next journey alongside her newest sidekick, Lockjaw!. Expect tons of laughs and empowering messages. And of course, I have Volume 3: Crushed on pre-order!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2024I can’t get enough of these Ms Marvel stories. I am grabbing the whole series.. will pass them to my daughter when I am done.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2018I have not read any comic books since I was a pre-teen, but this story has drawn me in. I'm a middle-aged white american male and I thoroughly love this character and her trials and tribulations. The family life and typical teenager situations combined with trying to learn her new powers has made this new Ms. Marvel a fascinating and interesting character. I also really enjoy the humor the writer employs and the drawing are really engaging. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic series
Funny, great art, and awesome stories, Ms. Marvel just gets better with each issue! In this volume Ms. Marvel meets Wolverine and the giant doggy Lockjaw and concludes her battle with the Inventor, all while trying to balance school, keeping her identity a secret and curfews!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thriling story of Ms Marvel
This book is interesting and entertaining to read just like the first volume. The story was original and compelling to read about. The artwork is still not the best quality that I have seen. See my review of Ms. Marvel Vol. 1. It could be improved greatly. I look forward to the next volume

5.0 out of 5 stars SO GOOD!!!
I already loved the first one A LOT.
But this one felt even better for me.
I still just love and adore Kamala as a character. I just love her personality and everything about her. The moment she came face to face with Wolverine and started to fangirl. That was just such a normal things to do for someone who is so into superheroes and stuff. I just loved that a lot.
I also really enjoy the addition of Lockjaw. Cause she really needs a crime fighting buddy and I love that it turned out to be a huge dog with a weird antenna on his head LOL
The story was great. The art was wonderful.
(I have the third volume here but I want to wait a bit to continue reading)

5.0 out of 5 stars Each volume gets progressively better!
When I read Ms. Marvel Volume 1: No Normal, I didn't think it could be topped. I was wrong. Generation Why made me laugh, made me cry, and made me so glad that someone's finally addressing the issues addressed in the book. I love, love, love Ms. Marvel and can't wait for the continuation!

5.0 out of 5 stars It was a great second volume
It was a great second volume. Volume 1 introduced Ms Marvel and made her one of my favourite characters instantly. If you bought the first one and liked it, you'll like this one too.
