Product Description

No Rinse Delicate Wash. Cleans & softens all fine washables with amazing results and no rinsing. Concentrate contains fiber restoring lanolin. 95 hand washes.

From the manufacturer

Woman turn on sink faucet.

Why is Eucalan no-rinse?

The formula doesn't require that it be rinsed. With your first soak in Eucalan, you should likely see the water in the wash basin turn a bit brown. The soap releases dirt into the wash basin, & though the clothing absorbs a little of the soap, it is beneficial. Lanolin fortifies & conditions clothing fibres - particularly great for woolens & knits, but can be used on most anything.

Scented with only pure essential oils, some of them contain long-term cleaning properties that are intended to remain in the clothing to further benefit from; Think swim suits & lingerie that lie close to the skin, or blankets & knitted sweaters that get packed away for the cold months.

Eucalan’s no-rinse formula is also convenient – great for travel when you’re not likely to have a washing machine, or are seeking to conserve water.

If you still feel the urge to rinse, it is safe to do so. The soap has done its job of cleaning, though you will lose the lasting effects of the lanolin & essential oils.

Close up of a small crashing wave.

Unscented

Eucalan’s Unscented Delicate Wash is the same trusted formula without essential oils. It is Eucalan – bare naked, with no added chemicals to hide the natural scent of the product. It is our suggested wash for those with scent sensitivities.

Unscented Delicate Wash

Eucalan's Most Popular Wash

For those with scent sensitivities, use Eucalan Unscented on all your delicates such as sweaters, lingerie, hosiery, comforters, down jackets, bathing suits and baby items. Really, it is great anytime you don’t want a competing scent.

Does one scent clean better than the other?

Each scent of Eucalan launders the same, releasing dirt from the item and into the water. However, certain essential oils have different lasting benefits. Grapefruit and Lavender have unique cleaning characteristics. Lavender and Eucalyptus have properties best used on woolens and items that get stored away periodically.

Makes knitting so soft!
5 out of 5 stars
Makes knitting so soft!
This makes my knitting projects so soft! I've used really scratchy cheap yarn at times, and after using Eucalan it's made those projects soft enough to wear next to skin. It turns yarn that's already soft at purchase into clouds after washing. It only takes a tiny bit when washing an item, so you get a lot of product for your money. It is definitely a must have for anyone that knits with wool yarn. I'll probably buy an even bigger container next time I need to buy some, and I will also buy a smaller bottle when I give wool knits as gifts for future washings.

I have used Eucalan a few times for my merino wool clothes and I love it. You use very little, it leaves no fragrance, and my clothes come out really soft. I am using Eucalan in my front loading washer per the company instructions. Since I don’t even own a full load worth of will products I also toss other item that should be washed on delicate cycle. Everything comes out beautifully. I don’t know if the other items get any benefits from the lanolin but they do seem softer. I don’t use any fabric softeners, just the Eucalan.
    I recommend this laundry soap.

This stuff is wonderful!! Cleans well, is very gentle, and has zero fragrance. I’m very sensitive to chemicals, so its extremely important that anything I use chemical free and unscented. This is perfect. It’s great for wool, but is also great on cotton, as the lanolin softens the cotton. The only downside is it’s a little on the expensive side, but you if you actually use the amount they suggest it does go a long way. I just seem to have trouble doing that!

I've always been a fan of the Kokaburra lanolin wash that I used to buy at our local food co-op. After we moved to a different state I wasn't able to find it so I decided to buy this one based on the great reviews (it was cheaper online than the Kokaburra). I used it to wash a sheepskin that had gotten very dirty and dusty during our move. And it now looks so white and beautiful and soft! I'm very impressed! A little bit of product is enough. It lathers very well. The smell is almost non existent, which I'm happy about. I can't wait to use it to wash all my knitted sweaters & scarves this Winter.

I bought this originally for washing wool diaper covers but I have started using this on blankets because it makes them SO SOFT. I had the unfortunate experience of not reading the instructions on how to dry a very plush microfiber blanket and it came out of the dryer a little rough. Knowing what this does with wool, I tried it on the blanket and it was almost back to its normal fluffiness... gave it a second wash with a soak and fwala, super plush blanket is super soft again, just like new.
Lanolin is amazing and this laundry soap is a game changer when it comes to having very soft fabric.

The only negative thing I could even say is that it's incredibly unfortunate that lanolin is a common contact allergen, so if you have Eczema, you may want to avoid this one.

This is a fabulous product. I washed an Irish wool sweater with this and it turned out beautifully, clean and smelling like a wool sweater should, not of drycleaning chemicals. I used a bathtub, as the sink would be too small, and about a 1/4 cup of Eucalan. I dried it carefully on a flat drying rack and it took about 48 hours to slowly dry completely. Highly recommended for your woolen clothes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eucalan, meine erste Wahl für Wolle und andere Stoffe
Reviewed in Germany on July 27, 2019

For over 30 years we have not heard of any issues with Methylchloroisothiazolinone. I feel it just depends on the individual themselves. We do have customers that prefer to rinse Eucalan and that is okay. We suggest that as you are rinsing it that you add just a little Eucalan to the rinse water to help continue the fibres with the lanolin.

Methylchloroisothiazolinone (CMIT) is a widely used preservative and antibacterial found in liquid cosmetics, household cleaners, and personal care products.
The use of Methylchloroisothiazolinone (Chlormethylisothiazolinon) is regulated in most countries to ensure safe concentrations.
As most preservatives are, Methylchloroisothiazolinone can cause skin irritation in high concentrations. However, Eucalan uses the minuscule amount of <10 parts per million (ppm).
Methylchloroisothiazolinone is not listed by The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as a known, probable, or possible human carcinogen.

I use Eucalan for all my wool items because it is very gentle on the clothes and there is no need to rinse. It is also very easy to use. I accidentally put a wool item through the gentle wool wash in my washing machine and it was ruined. If I had used Eucalan it would have been OK. I am more careful now.
