I am very disappointed with this bag
I am very disappointed with this bag. The strap connection is extremely weak and is only comprised of a single row of stitches. The bag was only 3 months old before the stitching broke and renders the bag useless. As the main strap that supports the entire weight of the bag there should be a stronger connection than a single line of stiches.I did not overload the bag or treat it harsher than any normal person would walking around a city taking pictures. I have been carrying a mirrorless camera and a couple of lenses so the weight is not extreme.I hate to be so harsh as I really like the look of the bag, but with such a serious design flaw the weakness of this connection is unacceptable.

I just received this bag and it's perfect for what we were looking for. We're going on a trip soon and I wanted a carry on that would fit my camera (sony a6000), extra lens, accessories, 13inch macbook pro, charger, as well as my wallet/passport/kindle etc. It's a great size for all of this (though my laptop is a slightly tight squeeze), well made, and looks great. The padding for the camera isn't as thick as it could be, but it seems like it will do the trick. I'm excited to use this bag for our trip as well as for school and as a large purse/messenger bag for when we get back!

The bag looks good. Leather strap and exterior are well made. I will use this bag as a camera bag and messenger bag etc, for around the city use only. For vacations I would want to protect my camera (Nikon DSLR, 18-250 Lens, accessories) with something a bit more padding on the interior and this would not be my good too bag for that purpose. All around good buy for this price point.

Received the bag and it looks good.

For the main purpose of carrying cameras, there is no cushion protection on one side. They have a fixed cushion down, one large cushion for one side and three dividers. The other side does not have any cushion protection and hence by change if the bag falls, we may have to sadly say good bye to our beloved cameras.

Good bag but falls a wee bit on cushion safety

I bought this bag to take camera equipment on a trip to Spain. I like the look of the bag. It held my Canon 6D, 17-40 mm, and a 70-300 mm lens along with a charger and speed light. That took up most of the room in it. The shoulder strap is not very padded but felt sturdy enough. You could, however, see where the fabric lining is starting to separate from the leather. I also agree with other reviewers in that the bottom of the bag could use some padding when setting it down and the velcro is not very good.

The smaller handle was a disaster. Leaving the house, and putting the bad into the cab (within 5 minutes of using it!), one brass clip broke! I was able to rig it so it could still be used. 48 hours later, the other one broke beyond repair!

All-in-all, it is a good looking bag. It holds stuff and the body is sturdy enough. But there is significant room for improvement.

I needed a small carry on/camera bag for an upcoming overseas trip, large enough to hold an EOS Rebel with 135mm lens attached, a Panasonic Lumix, some filters and batteries and other essential travel gear. After looking at dozens of bags on line, I purchased the Portage Leather Waxed Canvas bag - and I'm glad I did. It arrived quickly from Amazon. When my wife opened the box, she remarked how handsome this bag is, with the leather trim. The messenger style bag accommodates all my gear easily. It is sturdy and well constructed. My only complaint: I wish all the pockets had a securing snap like the one on the back of the bag. While I haven't used it yet, I feel in will be great for exploring London and Edinburgh, without advertising that cameras are housed inside.

This is a beautifully made camera bag. I feel that the quality of this bag is up there with the Domke F-5XB (which I also owned), except that this bag has more padded protection on the front side, and at the bottom. Also its leather strap is more comfortable than those of the Domke bags. I am able to fit a Nikon Df with an attached 50mm f/1.2, an 85mm 1.4G, and a 135mm DC F/2 in the inside compartments. The front outside pockets are for a SB-900 flash, 2 Godox receivers and 1 transmitter. This camera bag is made in the USA by a small company in Minnesota. Highly recommended.
