KitchenAid Professional 6000 HD Series 6-Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer
Our Professional 6000 HD Series stand mixer has a quiet and robust DC motor and a large capacity that easily mixes recipes with up to 14 cups flour.

Professional 6000 HD Series
This 6-Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer is perfect for heavy, dense mixtures. DC motor mixers are measured in HP. They are more energy efficient, and therefore do not require as high a wattage. Coated flat beater, coated dough hook and wire whip will help you mix, knead and whip ingredients into culinary masterpieces quickly and easily. Mixes recipes with up to 14 cups flour. 13 dozen cookies or knead dough for 8¼ loaves of bread in a single bowl.
Features
Power Hub
The power hub turns your stand mixer into a culinary center. With more than 15 optional attachments use the power of your stand mixer to help you make fusilli pasta from scratch, shred a block of parmesan cheese in seconds and so much more.
67-Point Planetary Mixing Action
67-Point Planetary Mixing Action means 67 touch points per rotation around the bowl for thorough ingredient incorporation. The beater, dough hook or wire whip rotates around the bowl, giving incredible bowl coverage for comprehensive mixing.
Bowl-Lift Design
The bowl-lift design provides sturdy bowl support for stability when mixing heavy ingredients or large batches. The lever smoothly raises the mixing bowl into position for efficient beater-to-bowl contact.
6-Quart Stainless Steel Bowl
Extra deep bowl with contoured design for adding ingredients with ease. Offers enough capacity to mix dough for 13 dozen cookies, 8 ¼ loaves of bread or 8 pounds of mashed potatoes in a single batch. The bowl is also dishwasher safe for quick and easy cleanup.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2016I am the wife, not Jeff. (Michelle) I have used and Artisian for 12 years. I bake ALOT at the Holidays. This machine has made my life so much easier. I found the Artisian to actually be "tired" or like I was "pushing" the motor to do some of the double batch cookies. This mixer handles every recipe I have thrown at it. I even quadrupled one recipe with no problem at all. The motor is remarkably quieter and I find that the unit in general saves me time. Meaning with the other mixer, I had to put ingredients in the bowl in steps. Now I can throw it all together get it going and it does a great job. Then add the flour mixture. It takes care of business like a BOSS. I give it a 5 star PLUS. I can tell you the only problem I have with it----And it is purely my problem (user)----I keep trying to to tilt the top back and then take out the beater. This unit does NOT tilt. It is a 12 year habit that I will have to break. Other than that, absolutely no problems and it made my Christmas baking much more efficient. I actually don't know if the motor is supposed to be more than the Artisian, I was reading a review, BUT it definitely seems like a stronger motor, it has plenty of power.Thank you for reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2015This machine is a solid bang for your buck. The following is a chat session I had with a KitchenAid rep comparing this unit with the 600 pro. I got this unit for under $250 bucks, so it was a no brainer for me. Hopefully this can help some people out.
UPDATE (12/2/2015) -
One other very nice thing i just found out from Kitchenaid; the 6000 HD uses the exact same 1.3 HP DC motor as the 6500 models. The difference is that the 6000 is programmed to use less HP/Wattage.

Emily: Thank you for contacting KitchenAid! My name is Emily. I will be with you momentarily.
Emily: Hello Mr. Anderson. How may I assist you today?
D. Anderson: Hello. I would like to know the differences between the motors for the stand mixers (600 pro and 6000 HD). Are there any downloadable spec sheets for these? Also, where could I view and / or purchase replacement parts for the 6000 HD?
Emily: I apologize, we do not have any spec sheets for our stand mixers. I would be happy to provide you with the differences in these models. One moment please.
D. Anderson: ok, thank you.
Emily: I apologize, do you have a model number for the 6000 HD?
D. Anderson: yes, 1 moment...
Emily: Thank you.
D. Anderson: KSM6573CER
Emily: Thank you. One moment please.
D. Anderson: ok. also, is that model made by kitchen aid in the US facility? I cannot find it on the kitchen aid website.
Emily: The Pro 600 has a 575 watt motor, a 6 quart bowl, and can hold 14 cups of all purpose flour. The KSM6573 has a 1.3 horsepower motor, a 6 quart tulip shaped bowl, and can hold 14 cups of all purpose flour. The Pro 600 is available in more colors than the KSM6573. The KSM6573 has a tulip shaped bowl so it does not have as many compatible accessories as the Pro 600.
Emily: All of our stand mixers are manufactured in the United States.
D. Anderson: I know the 6000 is rated to output 350 watts - and is DC power driven motor; but is the 6000 HD motor a larger motor than the pro 600?
Emily: Yes, it is a larger motor than the Pro 600
D. Anderson: where can I find a list of all replacement parts and compatible accessories for the 6000?
Emily: I can provide you with the list. One moment please.
D. Anderson: Thank you.
Emily: You're welcome.
Emily: Thank you for waiting. I have provided the list of all accessories compatible with the KSM6573 below.
Flat Beater - Coated (no burnished available) W10401173G
Spiral Dough Hook - Coated W10335442G
Wire Whip K5AWW
KSM6573 Tulip Shaped Bowl W10177650G
D. Anderson: Those are what come with the mixer when you purchase it, correct? there are no other accessories that can be used with it (like an 11 wire whisk, or glass bowel, etc.)?
Emily: Yes, these are all included with the stand mixer. There are no other compatible accessories for this model.
D. Anderson: Oh, one other question...
Emily: Ok.
D. Anderson: the 600 pro states on specs it is a direct drive transmission... is the 6000 the same? And are they also both all metal gears with metal gear box?
Emily: Yes, the 6000 is a direct drive transmission as well. And both models have all metal gears and metal gear boxes.
D. Anderson: Sorry, one other item I just remembered... The 6000 pro has 350 watts and 600 has 575 watts... Since the 6000 pro is DC driven motor and larger, does that mean it is the same or more "effective", performance power than the 600? Does it have more torque on each speed setting than the 600?
Emily: the Pro 6000's motor is more energy efficient, powerful, and will last longer.
D. Anderson: OK, so it will actually be able to more efficiently "muscle through", heavier mixes (like dough's\batters), than the 600?
Emily: Yes, it is.
D. Anderson: Ok, I think that is it from my end. Thank you for your time and information.
Emily: You're welcome. Thank you for contacting KitchenAid. Have a great day!
D. Anderson: You too. Bye.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2016I bought this from Amazon Warehouse Deals (described as "Used - Very Good") in early February 2016, for just under $150 including tax. I've been tracking KitchenAid mixer prices like a hawk since last October, and this was an absolutely amazing deal compared to the others I saw. After owning this mixer and using it for the last two weeks, I can confidently say I have no regrets.
When I unboxed this mixer, I was initially worried because the styrofoam packaging was damaged and there were tiny styrofoam pieces sticking all over the mixer. I made quite a mess trying to get it out. I lucked out though, since my mixer was pretty much brand new! I couldn't find any scratches or dents on the head of the mixer, although the Amazon Warehouse description said it would have a 1/2" scratch there. The mixer's plug still had a zip-tie attached through a prong, so the mixer hadn't even been plugged in before.
After putting the bowl into the mixer and lifting it up with the lever for the first time, I then spent 10 minutes trying to figure out why the bowl was too high and the metal beater kept scraping into the bottom of the bowl. After re-reading the instruction manual several times and then Googling, I realized it was because the bowl is supposed to both rest on the two knobs (one on each side), *and* click into the indentation at the back. I didn't realize the bowl wasn't clicked in yet (it looks pretty level, even when it's not fully clicked in), and that was why it was a tad too high. After locking the bowl in completely, its height was perfect. Hopefully this helps other people avoid this issue!
Anyway, besides a couple hiccups in the beginning, this mixer has been an absolute joy to use. It's so nice to be able to mix ingredients in parallel with measuring out the next set of ingredients. Baking is a lot more fun, and I've been making more food from scratch just to have an excuse to use this mixer :)
Now a quick note about the attachments - I did some research before getting this, and knew that I wouldn't be able to use any bowl or mixing implement attachments. However, all the attachments that plug into the head of the mixer do still work. Which is great, in case I want to splurge on a pasta attachment one day. I haven't found the lack of bowl or mixing implement attachments to be a drawback, especially since I was able to snag a used version of this mixer at such a low price. If you're interested in trying out this KitchenAid mixer and don't mind getting a used one, keep an eye on the Amazon Warehouse prices!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2018Received this in December 2017 in time for Christmas baking and I love it! Have made a recipe for 4 loves of bread a few times and has it worked GREAT every time. The bread making was the main reason I bought the Professional 60000 HD with a 6-quart bowl. I have also made cakes, cookies, sausage balls and other things and of course it worked great for them too. I was surprised by how quiet this mixer was compared to the other 2 KitchenAid mixers I have owned in the past. Only paid $239.00 plus tax and shipping which was a great buy!!! If you want a great mixer, I highly recommend purchasing one from this company!
