- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2015Holy mother of SUCTION!! I knew my new Bissel One Pass was being delivered today (Amazon Prime) so in preparation, I vacuumed my living room carpet with my 2 year old Eureka Endevor NLS just so I could see if the new Bissel was any better, since my carpet was now *clean* there shouldn't be anything in the new dump can afterwards. Right? Side note: I have a Persian cat so I NEED to vacuum daily. I'll attach a pic of the culprit that leaves my carpet full of baby soft hairs.
I received the vacuum and assembled it quickly. It was very easy. I plugged it in and went to work on an 8'x10' section in the center, where the main traffic area is. It sucked so hard my carpet was lifting off the ground in the area right around the vacuum cleaner. I'll attach a picture of the new dirt, cat hair and ALL the dust it sucked up from my *clean* carpet. Now I'm so disgusted that my carpet was THAT dirty after I vacuumed it with my old Eureka. The one complaint I have is the hose seems a bit short. I use my vacuum cleaner hose to clean all the base boards and corners and this one seems a little shorter than my old one. If you are considering this vacuum I am 100% happy with the $80 +$5 tax I spent on it. I don't know how long it will last. I sure hope it continues to have such powerful suction like it has now. If this changes I will update this review.
UPDATE: (11 MONTHS OF USE)
I still like how well this vacuum cleans. My one and only complaint is the hose. It is still very stiff. It's shorter than I'd like. It doesn't really matter how long the hose is if you can't extend it because the material is so strong. I use the hose often and when I pull it more than 2 feet , the hose is so stiff that it won't stretch out and the vacuum cleaner gets pulled toward me and the falls over and hits me, or anything around me. This drives me insane!! It's always slamming into my side or back when I'm crouched down vacuuming the base boards. And it won't stretch high enough to reach my ceiling fan or AC vents. :( attention manufacturer: can you use a more pliable material for the hose?! Please and thank you.
PS: I added another pic of my cat since there was a request in the comments.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2015I would truly be surprised if there is another vacuum cleaner on the market that is better than this Bissell model – for the money.
Over the years I have owned quite a few vacuum cleaners and, sad to say, I have never actually been satisfied with any of them. (Perhaps I am too picky.) Prior to purchasing this Bissell I had a 5-year old Kenmore Upright and a 2-year old Shark Navigator Lift-Away, both well regarded vacuums. However, I happened to notice this Bissell on Amazon and after reading the reviews I couldn’t resist buying one. To cut to the chase, I really like this Bissell. As a matter of fact, I have given away the Kenmore Upright and I rarely use the Shark Lift-Away.
After two and one-half months I still find this Bissell easy to use and I am very pleased with its convenience and powerful cleaning ability. And speaking of cleaning ability, the suction is so strong that I have replaced two older throw rugs because the Bissell found loose carpet threads on them and sucked the threads onto the roller brush thereby creating a bare strip in the rugs. So I now have two new throw rugs that look very nice, and the Bissell is perfectly happy going over them without doing extra work. You would think that such strong suction would cause the Bissell to be very noisy. I fact, it is quieter than my Kenmore Upright and much quieter than my Shark Navigator.
As indicated by other reviewers, this vacuum seems cheaply made. But after my two and one-half months of use it is intact and working great. When I bought my Shark (which was over twice the cost of the Bissell) the handle broke within 60 days – and then it took almost a month to get a replacement part! I take comfort in the fact that should the Bissell break at some time in the future it just may be simpler and more cost effective to throw it away and buy a new one. However, I don’t expect that to happen any time soon because the internal working parts seem strong and the vacuum does not have a bunch of bells and whistles to contribute to its failure rate.
The Bissell does have some negatives. The location of the power switch is inconvenient. It is located on the side of the vacuum base about 15 inches off the floor, and partially hidden by the hose. So you have to bend over and look for the switch to turn the vacuum on or off. Also, the switch is simply on/off. There is no intermediate switch position with which to turn off the roller and leave the suction going for use on bare floors. Lastly, because it is so light weight the vacuum has a tendency to fall over when using the hose. Oh, I could be really nit-picky and say there is no light on the front of the vacuum. But the lights on every vacuum I’ve ever owned were problematic so I’ve never used them anyhow.
The Bissell CleanView vacuum is an intelligent, economical way to clean floors in a home. If price is not a consideration for you, then you may want to keep shopping for a more attractive vacuum with bells and whistles. But if you simply want a device to use to clean your floors and then return it to the closet, there is no need to look further.

CONS
-Cleaning the cylinder is a pain. The dirt gets stuck at the top.
-The hose is short and needs more extensions.

We had an old Dyson before this and we prefer this one now. The suction is better. For the price, it is an AMAZING value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific Suction and performance.
What a fantastic Vacuum! We have a Dyson canister type and were not at all pleased with how it performs on carpet.
This Bissell has the best suction that we have ever seen.
We had one piece missing in the box and called the toll free number and they sent us the piece in about a week.
We would recommend to anyone as the best value for the money.
Happy Vacuuming.
