Great product; wasteful packaging
I purchase these for use in my workplace so I’m typically limited to online purchases. As such, I try to purchase items in an environmentally sound manner so usually go for bulk cardboard packages when possible. I was set on Duracell but chose this particular “eco-friendly” pack for those reasons. Upon receipt though I was surprised and frustrated to see that Duracell has chosen to pack these in an opaque cardboard box, but still managed to waste space, cardboard and excess plastic by packaging the batteries in a molded plastic tray inside the cardboard box. Duracell could learn a thing or two from Energizer, from whom I last bought AA batteries. Their batteries came in a compact cardboard ‘brick’ of cells with minimal waste and maximum efficiency. The pictures really tell the story. Duracell gets five stars for the product but three stars for the packaging, so we’ll average it out to four stars total.
